It was shown that there shall be 3 modes of divine operation based on 3 intentional feasts instituted by the Lord namely Passover,Pentecostand Tabernacles. We explored the first message titled “Freedom from the Passover”, during  which  it  was  shown  that  the  feast  which  was  a commemoration of the deliverance from the bondage of Egypt, was instituted to serve as a type of the ultimate mission of the 2nd Person in the Godhead: liberation of mankind from the shackles of sin and Satan. That whosoever aligns with Him secures freedom wrought by Him (Rom.6:14; 8:37; Gal.3:13,14). Today,  we  shall  be  examining  another  mode  of  feasting  for  the  faithful through the message titled:„Fruitfulness, fromthePentecost‟
  • Topic: FRUITFULNESS, FROM THE PENTECOST
  • Subtexts: Deut.16:9-11; Acts 2:1-4
The feast of weeks/harvest/Pentecost was one of the 3 major feasts instituted by the Lord for His people (Exo.23:13-17). It was held on the 50th day after the first day of Passover or unleavened bread (Deut.16:9- 11;  Lev.23:16).  It  celebrates  the  end  of  the  grain  harvest  – a form  of thanksgiving (Exo.23:16). It  served  as  a day  of  joy  (Deut.16:16)  and  expression  of  gratitude  for the  blessings  of  the  grain  harvest  (cp.Lk17:17).  It  was  hallowed  by  the Jews (Acts 30:16; 1Cor.16:8). The nature of feast clearly defines it as a means of divine empowerment and fruitfulness, being  a  time of offering to  the Lord, and rejoicing in appreciation of the harvest and the freedom being enjoyed (Deut.16:10-12; Pro.3:9-10; Lk.6:38; Acts 20:35; 2Cor.9:6-8). The feast was to be a type of an era in which the 3rd Person in the Godhead will be available to mankind to make for fruitfulness.     And as the 2nd Person in the Godhead paid the price at the Passover, so the 3rd Person in the Godhead arrived in fullness on the day of Pentecost. (Lk.24:49; Acts.1:4-8; 2:1-4). He came with the emblem of divine presence – fire (Gen.15:17-18; Exo.19:17-18; 24:7; 40:38; 2Chro.7:1). He came with the mode of divine uniqueness–fire that did not consume (Exo.3:1-2;  Acts  2:3).  Just  as  He  manifests  as  fire  without  violence  at given times though He is actually a consuming FIRE (Heb.12:29; Deut.4:24; 9:3, He has the ability to quench the violence of natural fire (Heb.11:34; Dan.3:23-25). Wherever  God  manifests,  it  is  counted  as  holy  and  a place  of  worship (Gen.28:19; Exo.3:1-5; 19:17-24; 2Chro.7:1); therefore, with the flames of the Pentecost, the Lord was demonstrating that God’s worship space was shifting from inanimate or man-made structures to the human being (Acts 2:1-3; 1Cor.3:16-17; 6:19; 2Cor.6:16). So the advent of the Holy Ghost on the fore ordained feast of Pentecost marked the beginning of an era called church age or dispensation of  grace, when God has chosen to dwell in man, and guide them from within (Jn.4:21-24; 14:16-17,23). This indwelling of the Spirit escalates the bearing capacity and capability of the disciples, hence the disciples need to wait for His arrival (Jn.15:16; cp. Acts 1:8; 2:5-11; 4:1,4,47). Men being God‟s temples are now to be carriers of God‟s presence, radiating God‟s glory such that those that come in contact with them will have a„taste‟of His splendor  (Jn.1:14; Phil.2:13-15; 1Thess.2:5-8,10; 1Pet.2:9-10). As temples of God and hence carriers of God‟s presence, they carry the creative potentials of God dwelling in them and expected to develop the said potentials (1Pet.2:2; Phil.4:13; Gal.2:20; Rom.8:14). As the spiritual realm rules the physical, so should one who ha developed his spiritual capacity rule the physical realm of his life (Rom.8:11; Phil.4:13; 1Jn.4:4). With  the  spiritual  exercises  being  undertaken,  capacity  is  growing  and fruitfulness in all dimensions is being developed.
