The believer is called to live by faith (Heb.10:38) and faith of what is seen is not faith (Jn.20:26-29). Those that live by faith tenaciously hold unto the WORD (Matt.4:4; Deut.8:3). The word of God for this month is saying that there is remarkable feasting for the resolutely faithful; ie If anyone is unshakably faithful to the Lord, there is an impressive divine feast designed to come the person’s way. Our 1st text relayed a king’s positive attitude towards faithful ministers (making helping-hands merry without threat); and the 2nd text is a revelation of the glory of a restored people–Israel. Now, the manner of divine visitation shall follow the patterns of feasts earlier instituted namely the Feasts of Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles (Exo.23:14-16; Deut.16:1-16). These feasts were not incidental but divine programmes drafted in the Divine  Master  Plan  for mankind, which were to serve as TYPES  OF  REALITIES  designed for later  dispensations.  The  following  subtopics  shall  be  explored:  Freedom, from the Passover; Fruitfulness, from the Pentecost, and Favour, from the Tabernacles Today, we shall focus on the first feast through the following message: Topic: FREEDOM, FROM THE PASSOVER Subtexts: Exo.12:3,5-8,11-15; 23:13-14; Deut.16:1-8 The Passover is the most important Hebrew feast. It commemorated their deliverance from Egyptian bondage. It was a celebration of freedom, redemption and birth of a new Jewish nation (Gen.15:12-16). It is celebrated in the early spring and marked by the removal of leaven, eating  of  unleavened  bread  (symbolizing  removal  of  sin), bitter  herbs (figurative of the slavery bitterness) and a roasted shank bone (figurative of the sacrificial lamb). It is a memorial of the 10th decisive plague that judged the gods and people of Egypt whereby the angel of death passed     through the land to slay the first born of man and beasts (Exo.12:5).   The Passover was divinely ordained to foreshadow the mission of the 2nd Person in the Godhead to redeem enslaved mankind (Gen.3:15; Matt.1:21; Jn.1:29,35-36; 13:1). While awaiting His advent, Jehovah gave ordinances/laws that will temporarily secure the people, if obeyed (Gal.3:24; Heb.10:1). The ceremonial laws served as foreshadowing for the new covenant. The real Passover whose type was demonstrated in the Old Testament brought reconciliation to mankind with the restoration of blessings that eluded man following the fall (1Cor.5:7; Rom.5:6-11,14-20). It was the case of a perfectly holy Man being imputed with sin so that sinful man may be imputed with righteousness (Isa.53:10-11; 2Cor.5:21). It was about passing a perfectly righteous man through a comprehensive episode of indescribably excruciating suffering (spirit, soul and body) until the demands for justice against the human race were fully satisfied (2Cor.8:9; Jn.19:30; Matt.27:46). So Jesus tasted the wrath of God that the sinner  deserved  (Isa.53:5); lifted our diseases and placed on His body (Isa.53:11; Matt.8:17);  and carried our curses-legitimate and illegitimate ones (Gal.3:10,13-14; Ezek.18:2; Pro.26:2). Therefore, as many as align with the Lord Jesus to live in total submission to His will, shall doubtlessly trigger the mechanism for epic divine feasting (Lk.15:17-27;  Eph.3:20;  Heb.13:5;  Lk.15:6,7;  Rom.6:14;  Jn.1:12;  1Jn.3:8- 9; Lk.13:10-17; Mk.5:1-20; Matt.14:13-21). The Passover feast is a memorial of divine redemption, restoration and rebirth of destiny. Divine freedom in all dimensions is coming the way of the decisive faithful (Ps.27:10, 31:23; 37:25; Prov.28:20; Matt.25:21; Jn.14:27). The freedom shall beget feasting. And the feast shall be impressive.
