Theme: THE LORD REMEMBERS
Texts: Gen.15:1-18; Exo.2:23-25; Isa.49:15-16
Since the Premium First Fruits Fasting Feast, the atmosphere of miracles has hung
over the Movement. The flurry of testimonies flowing in has been resounding; while every challenge that appears to be an antagonist, is rather an instrument of uplift, even a springboard to a higher platform of divine life and service.
It has been stated that we are in the golden era, a season of
Reaping in Righteousness and Divine Remembrance. In this edition, we shall be focusing on Divine remembrance to make our petitions.
It must be clearly noted that God is not a man that is subject to decay or depreciation with passage of time (Num23:19); He rather dwells in the realm of eternity, knowing the end of time from its beginning and declaring same (Isa.46:10; 2Pet.3:8). The impression of God remembering things is simply the attribution of human characteristics to God (anthropomorphism). It signifies the commencement of a delivering action and it is always associated with the expression of His character:
faithful, merciful and loving.
There are definite things that the scriptures indicate that God remembers.
- His covenant and promises (Gen.9:15,16; Exo.2:24; 6:5; Lev.26:42,45; Ps.106:45; 105:8; Lk.1:72).
- His people in need (Gen.8:1; 21:1; 30:22; 1Sam.1:19; Ps.136:23).
- Evil acts of generations (Exo.20:5; 17:14-16; Deut.25:17-19; 1Sam.15:1-2). iv. Works of faith (Heb.6:10).
On the basis of this concept, we shall be taking matters to God in prayer, soliciting immediate action.
PRAYER POINTS:
- Gen. 16:11-12; Jer.29:7 –We shall be praying for enabling environment by targeting the menace of Islamic terrorism: All over the globe, the Islamic extremists are causing troubles saying that all nations must adopt, and practice sharia. In Nigeria, the ideology is manifesting through the activities of politicians, Boko Haram, ISWAP, ‘Bandits’, Fulani Herdsmen, etc.
- Pray that the Lord will thwart the activities of these foot-soldiers and put an end to their blood chilling operations in this country. (Job 5:12; Isa.37:23-29,34-36).
- Pray for divine ambushment: disunity amongst the various sects, so that they will eliminate each other (2Chro.20:22-23; Gen.11:4-9).
- Pray for divine interception of the supply chain of these sects; that their sponsors (politicians businessmen, retired military officers, traditional rulers, etc) be exposed and prosecuted by a global law enforcement body (Mic.2:1-3; Job20:5- 15,19-20,24-24,27-29).
- Pray for the empowerment of the natives and restoration of their usurped heritage (Amos 5:9; Joel 2:25; Isa.40:29).
- Jer.10:11; Eph.6:12–Let us call upon the Lord to neutralize the spiritual forces/ powers behind the operation of these terrorists.
- Ps.122:6 – Let us pray for the nation Israel, who are being attacked by Iranian missiles: that the Lord will protect the people (as our brethren are also there); and bring de-escalation of the war. Let us pray that the Iran-war will not hinder the promise of American intervention in our country.
- Eph.6:18; Col.4:2-4–Let us pray for the general body of Christ that the Lord will purify His people, revealing and removing false ministers, healing the backsliders and restoring unity and vigour as of old (Acts 2: 42-46; Jn.17:17,20-21)
- Isa.43:26; Jos.21:45 – Are there not promises of God that have not been realized in your life? Present them to the Lord.
