WATCHMAN CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL MOVEMENT
FIRST FRUIT FASTING FELLOWSHIP 2025 (AUGUST EDITION) Day 1
Theme: ARISE IN THE STRENGTH OF THE AUGUST VISITOR
Texts: Isa.60:1-3; Jn.14:16,26; 15:26; Eph.6:10-15
The habit of continual fasting cannot be overemphasized in Christian faith especially for the generation that tethers at the edge of the Church age (Matt.6:16-18; 17:21; Gal.6:7) and those that have understood the first fruits principle and set themselves apart to keep to them cannot be disappointed (Pro.3:9,10; Eph.3:20). It must also be noted that best results are obtained by the diligent (Pro.10:4; 13:4;22:29).
The messages of the last two months pertain to
the Finger of God and
the Right hand of God’s righteousness respectively being revealed and unleashed in our favour.
This month, there is a call to action saying
“Arise!”
Arise from ungodly compromise, half-baked Christianity, Christian-mediocrity, passivity, and all forms of lack luster living.
Our texts pertain to the prophetic call or announcement to returnees (Israelites) to arise as their light had come; and the glory of the Lord had alighted on them (Isa.60); secondly, the Lord Jesus’ revelation of another Comforter that will assist His disciples (Jn.14:16,26; 15:26); and Apostle Paul’s revelation of the believer’s armour for victorious Christian living (Eph.6).
It must be remembered that the August (respected and impressive) Visitor is none other than the Comforter.
The message shall come under 3 points:
Day I: The Announcement: The August Announcement
Day II: Access: The Access to August Altitude
Day III: The Accomplishment: Arising In The Strength of the August Visitor.
Topic: THE AUGUST ANNOUNCEMNT
Subtexts: Isa.60:1-3; Matt.5:14-16.
In this month of August, the Lord is announcing and instructing all Watchmen (and friends of the Watchman) to
arise; and
shine.
To arise means to stand up from a sitting or lying position. It indicates taking a position/disposition to act or respond.
It is about girding loins to work or advance in a given cause.
God told Abram to arise and walk through the land (Gen.13:17). Angels told Lot to arise and hasten (Gen.19:15); Isaac told his son, Jacob whose life was at stake, to arise and go to Padan-aram (Gen.28:2).
All watchmen are called to arise.
We are also required to shine (Heb.
ôwr means
to be luminous or
to make luminous). The believer is expected to shine wherever he is found (Matt.5:14-16; Phil.2:15). This entails dispensing the gospel by precept and practice. This illumination or radiance can also reflect in prosperous performance in other walks of life. (Gen.24:34,35; 1Kgs.4:29-31; 10:1-7, 13, 23-24; 1Chro.12:32; Dan.1:18-20; 6:3).
The Prophet also announced that the people’s light had come and the glory of the Lord had risen upon them (us) (Isa.58:11,14). Wherever light comes, darkness ceases to exist: the greatest form of darkness is sin (Matt.9:2,5-6’ Jn.3:19; 1Jn.2:9,11).
Please note that one of the worst evils that can happen is for those walking in light to revert to darkness. So, the old time believer must guard against this (Prov. 26:11; Heb. 6:4-6)
Again, it was announced that while darkness will perfuse and encapsulate the earth, God’s people shall enjoy His abiding presence/glory (Isa.60:2; cp.Exo.13:21-22).
Then in Isa.60:3, the gentiles (nations) shall come to their light and kings to the brightness of their rising (Heb.
zerach means
a rising of light). In other words, the emanating splendor of their prosperity will attract royals and people of repute from far (Isa.58:8,10,11,14; 1Kgs.4:31,34; Matt.3:1,5; 4:23,24).
So there is a divine call for mass action: everyone engaged in the area of his calling. There must be a paradigm shift from resting in the niches and comfort zones of fleshly pleasure, passivity, indolence etc to returning back to the field. (Matt. 22:8-10; Lk. 19:13).
The “
holiday” is over; let all get back to the business of populating the kingdom. Develop the passion for souls and become addicted to gospel ministration;
shine wherever you are found (Matt.5:14-16).
