We have established that the glorious church of the last days shall be made up of golden people with a golden vision, golden hearts and tongues. Such are called to ride upon the high places of the earth, which is a metaphor for the ease with which they will overcome challenges and acquire the promised possession. We also saw that if Israelites fasted rightly and lived right by delighting in the Lord, the Lord promised to bring them to that pleasant state; and thirdly, believers have been placed in Christ Jesus.
We showed that our theme has to do with the manner and operations of the people living in such high places.
We concluded by pointing out the awareness that such persons ought to have: being embedded in Christ;
seated in the heavenly places in the position of power and influence, and so should not be oppressed but rather should be liberators of the oppressed (Lk.4:18; 10:19; Jn.20:21).
They also know that they were divinely apprehended for a divine purpose, which course they pursue in their earthly activities.
Today, we shall be looking at:
Topic: THE ACTIVITIES OF HIGH LANDERS
Subtexts: Jn.8:29; Gal.2:20; Phil.1:21
Highlanders are people that dwell in highlands, hilly or mountainous terrains. So they dwell in high altitudes. They are metaphors of watchmen who always stand above others (Ezek.3:17; 33:7,9).
For anyone to remain on the height, he must put Christ at the center of his life: To please Him as Jesus did to His Father and as Paul did with Jesus.
The person must resonate with the Lord’s heartbeat (Jn.4:34; 9:4; Heb.10:9; Lk.19:10; Rom.9:1-4; 10:1-3; 1Tim.2:3-4; 1Cor.9:16; cp. Acts 21:4,10-13; 26:15-19).
They
know that those without the life of God will be eternally doomed (LK.9:60; Jn.3:3,5,14-18,36; 1Cor.6:9-10; Rev.21:7). So they habitually engage in giving life to such dead people (Mk.8:36; 10:28-30; Jn.20:21; Lk.10:1-4) by feeding them with the Bread of life (Jn.6:48-51, 53-58; 1Cor.2:2).
Their commitment to pleasing God prods and propels them to seek spiritual power and gifts to be more effective vessels of God (Jn.14:12; 7:18).
They
pursue an impeccable moral lifestyle, knowing that the Lord is not a Respecter of persons and will not tolerate sin of any kind at any time from any creature (Pro.11:21; Habk.1:13; Acts 10:34; Rom.2:11-12).
They are not careless or over confident, but rather watchful and precautious, as advised in the Scriptures (1Pet.5:8; 1Cor.10:12; cp. Jn.6:70).
The
Lord Jesus is their ultimate Model (Matt.11:28,29; 28:19,20; Jn.8:12,46).
Highlanders are; therefore, believers given to lead Christ’s kind of life on earth as good ambassadors of God’s kingdom, hearing from God and giving warning to men (Ezek.3:17-19; Isa.62:6).
