This Charismatic Hour teaching is about the truth that the covenants made with El Olam are credible (reliable, valid, sure).
El Olam meaning the Everlasting God is the revelational name that Abraham got as he raised an altar after his covenant with Abimelech, who had perceived the grace upon him and feared an Abrahamic reprisal (cons. Gen. 21:22-33). Abraham had followed the Lord for about a quarter of a century and had seen the precision with which His promises were fulfilled as well as His faithfulness in protection, provision and promotion, in the sight of all (Gen. 21:22)
Our 2nd text reveals that the Everlasting God had made a covenant with David to make a house for him by establishing a kingdom that will always be ruled by his descendants. This He fulfilled.
We shall bring the message under two points: (A) Divine Covenants, Explained (B) Durability of Divine Covenants, Exposed.
(A) DIVINE COVENANTS, EXPLAINED
Covenants are agreements made between two or more parties with terms. They can be human, divine or demonic. The human covenants are mere agreements between people. The demonic are agreements made with devils or made under their witness. And the divine are agreements
made with or before God.
It is note worthy that agreements made with the devils are never favourable to men and often contain hidden conditions that the man consents to in ignorance. (Jn. 10:10, Hos. 4:6)
Divine agreements can be between two or more human parties under the supervision of the Lord (cons. Gen. 21: 27-30, Jos. 9:3-20) or directly with the Lord Himself (Gen. 15:7-18, 17:1-14, Ps. 89:3). It should be noted that the employment of deceit by the
Gibeonites did not nullify the agreement. There are a number of other divine covenants recorded in the scriptures viz.
Adamic (Gen. 3:14-19),
Noahic (Gen. 9:11-17),
Mosaic (Ex. 19:1-9, 20:1-26, Deut. 28:1-1-8),
New Covenant (Jer. 31:31-34, 1 Cor. 11:25, Heb. 8:6-13)
In Divine Covenants, the fulfillment of the divine conditionality guarantees the actualization of the divine promise (Gen. 17:9-13, Deut. 28:1-4)
There are occasions where the loyalty of a subject so thrills the Lord that He graduates a promise to an oath. The
oath does not have any conditionalities attached (Gen. 22:1-12, 15-18, Heb. 6:13,14; Ps. 89:3,4, 34-36)
(B) DURABILITY OF DIVINE COVENANTS, EXPOSED
With El Olam, a thousand years is like a day and vice versa; so passage of time does not diminish the validity of His agreement (2 Pt. 3:8, cp. Mal. 3:6). Bringing other characteristics of God into view: He is not only eternal but also knows and declares the end from the beginning (Isa. 46:10)
Understanding the truth that He had made a Master plan from the beginning and factored into the map all the major and minor covenants that He will make with men in His
counsel; will make a believer worry-free. (Isa. 45:5-10, 11-14)
So every divine covenant remains valid within the terms of the agreement; bear in mind that righteousness and justice is the habitation (foundation) of His throne (Ps. 89:14)
With the re-launching of the movement and restoration of functions, it is necessary to return to the promises made by the Lord, individually or corporately and activate them.
It is time to recollect the promises made to the angel of the church : Gen. 26:13, Ps. 21, 87:2, Isa. 49:5,6, Jer. 33:2, 10-13, 2 Tim. 3:8,9.
Then recollect the personal promises or prophecies given to you directly or indirectly.
All these before the Lord, are as fresh today as in the day that they were given.
Now remind the El Olam the promises and covenants with a word of prayer.
