Before we get into the teaching of the day, it is necessary that all be reminded of the mechanism of victory for the year 2023: identifying with the will of God and making Scriptural-based arguments before the Lord.
We shall be addressing a divine quality that every child of God should be acquainted with to succeed.
Topic: FAITHFULNESS OF THE FATHER Subtexts: Gen.15:12-18; Deut.7:7-9; 1Cor.1:9
Our subtexts speak of God’s faithfulness starting with His promise to rescue the offspring of Abraham, through the time of the execution, to when they were in the wilderness en route to the land of promise. And Apostle Paul asserted the truth that God is faithful.
The word translated faithfully in 1 Cor.1:9 is the Greek Pistos which objectively means trustworthy; that is ‘able to be relied on as honest and truthful’; reliable; Dependable.
The appreciation of the Omniscience, Omnipresence, and Omnipotence of God makes it easy to see (Ps.33:11,14; 147:5; Matt.10:28-30; Ps.139:5-13; Jer.23:23,24; Matt.19:26; Rom.11:33-36). The truth that God has known all things that have happened, or are still happening and those yet to happen; vis a vis making statements of promise to His people bothering on the issues, should make the child of God confident (Isa.46:9,10; 48:3,5; Heb.4:13; Zach.1:5,6; 1Kgs.8:56; Jos.21:45). Hence the Lord’s appeal to His people to look unto Him and be saved. (Isa.45:22).
Prophet Jeremiah appreciated it and defined God’s faithfulness as unfailing – new every morning (Lam.3:22-23).
To the church of Thessalonia where the apostle had a very short stint before his dislodgment by persecution, the faithfulness of God was placed on the burner (1Thess.5:24; 2Thess.3:3).
The Lord Jesus taught this in the parable of the prodigal son whose father received it as he returned. (Lk.15:18-27).
The Lord will always stand by His word and never let any fail else He is no longer God (Isa.55:8-11; Matt.24:35).
The Almighty has no limitations and will not watch anything successfully giving that impression.
Even though God does not get into strife with His creatures when they engage in things that question His existence, He has His time when He arises to silence or neutralize or reverse all the apparent “success” of the enemy. It is called the day of the Lord (Ezr.4:24; 5:1-5; Esth.3:15; 7:10).
The Lord would have His people anchor on His revealed nature to trust Him and pray to Him (Jer.9:23,24; 32:27; 33:3).
We shall stand on His righteousness to trust, pray and expect answers.
