INTRODUCTION: One of the prerequisites of sumptuous blessing during a Charismatic Hour fellowship is attending with EXPECTATION.

Expectation is an expression of faith, and faith never fails. Expectation makes one alert and diligent to do what is required for a manifestation (Ps. 107:9).

From our texts, one can see the reversal of an impossible course of nature by the word of promise.

We shall be bringing the message under the following headings (A) The Analysis  (B)  The Lessons and Application.

(A)  THE ANALYSIS

After 24years of following the Lord and awaiting the Lord’s blessings chequered with by the pressures of the wife’s unbelief, Abraham ultimately got a specific word of promise (cons. Gen.12:1-4, 16:1-4, 17:15-17,19).

The promise looked too good to be real considering the ages of the involved people, and so Abraham laughed, expressing some doubt (Gen.17:17). Doubt (or fear) has the potential of magnifying a challenge and should be resisted vehemently (Gen.17:17,1, Num.13:28,31,33, Matt.14:29-31 cp. Mk.11:23, Jas.1:5-8).

After delivering the promise through vision (Gen.17:1,22), the Lord came physically to reaffirm the contemporary hard-to-believe promise. In this physical visit in the company of 2 angels (Gen.18:1-3,8), the Lord was more specific; also accomodating the doubt of Sarah hence His comment, so as to knock it off (Gen.18:9-16 cp. Mk.9:20-24).

Ultimately as the Lord promised, a son was conceived and born to a couple whose natural circumstance appeared hopeless (cons. Rom.4:18-21, Heb.11:12).

(B)   THE LESSONS AND APPLICATION

The Lord always reaffirms His promises so as to build people’s faith, and where a promise is not clear, the beneficiary is expected to ask for divine clarification or reaffirmation (cons. Judg.6:37-40, 13:8-10; Matt.18:16).

The Lord accommodates the infirmities of His people especially when their manifestation seems justifiable (cons. Ps.103:13,14, Lk.1:34 ct. Lk.1:18-20).

There are people whose situations can be likened to Sarah’s (cons. Ps.22:1-17).

The word of the Lord has gone out in favour of the Watchmen declaring that: there shall be heard again in this place.…the voice of joy and the voice of gladness (Jer.33:10-12). “It shall be alright”; “episodes of joy touching episodes of joy”; “the Lord will not withhold corn at times of need”. Many people also have specific words of promise received through prophecies, words of knowledge, dreams, visions, rhema from the scriptures revelations from others etc.

Be informed: Irrespective of how great the challenge appears, faith in God will yield the required result (Gen.18:14a, Matt.19:26).

Let’s rise up to pray, for your SARAH shall have a SON!
