The unfriendly events cannot deny us the episodes of joy promised. We have taken time to expound on the necessity of keeping the first fruit principle, fasting and forgiving offenders, to succeed in the kingdom. Today, we shall look at another necessity through a message: Title:             POWER OF PURITY Subtexts:     Num.23:19-21,23, Matt.5:8 Balaam after establishing the immutability of God and His word informed Balak the King that he had received an irrevocable instruction to bless, revealing the reason: God hath not beheld iniquity (vanity, idol, wickedness) in Jacob, neither hath He seen perverseness (wearing effort, misery, evil, mischief, grievance) in Israel. Then, the Lord Jesus said blessed are the pure (free from impure admixture, corrupt desire, guilt) in heart for they shall see (gaze ie with eyes wide open as at something remarkable) God. We are in a world of abounding iniquity-lawlessness, acting contrary to the law (Matt.24:12) and the love of many has gone cold. Wickedness is growing in leaps and bounds (1Tim.4:1-2, 2Tim.3:1-5) and myriads of uninformed saints are getting carried away by the flood of ungodliness. Yet, the Lord has not changed His standard, as His nature remains intact. (Mal.3:6 cp. Lk.18:8) We shall look at (A) The Unnegotiable Nature of God (B) Ultimate Power From Purity of Life. (A)     The Unnegotiable Nature of God By nature, we mean the basic or inherent features, characters or qualities of something. The Almighty is the Embodiment of love, goodness, kindness, and every good attribute, possessing the fullness of every good quality. Howbeit, there is a nature that stands out which is eternally being proclaimed by His angels viz holiness (Isa.6:1-3, Rev.4:8). Therefore, He commands all that desire to relate with Him to be HOLY (Gen.17:1, Lev.11:44,45, Deut.14:1-2, Matt.5:48, 1Pt.1:14-16). Anyone that flouts this call for separation from impurities unto Him (God) can never have a place with Him (Habk.1:13, Ezk.33:12-13). But he that separates from impurities shall gaze at Him (Matt.5:8; Heb.12:14; cp. Jer.33:3). (B)   Ultimate Power From Purity of Life There exist powers in the universe but the ultimate is that of God Almighty, ably represented by the Lord Jesus and extended to the church (Ps.62:11, Matt.28:18; Eph.1:16-22). Anyone who identifies with Him through accepting the Lordship of His Son Jesus, and proceeding to lead a life of purity, will attract a great measure of His presence (Job 1:1,8-10; Ps.105:13-15; Heb.1:8,9). It must be noted that the Lord’s attention to people varies according to worth (1Sam.2:30, Num.12:5-15, Ps.87:2; Jn.8:29). People that seek to please the Lord, abstaining from all unrighteousness and pursuing after purity cannot be at the same level as those living as they like (Ps.62:11-12, Jn.8:29,46). Purity of life attracts God’s presence and spurs God unto reciprocal action of uncommon manifestation (Heb.1:8,9, Matt.5:8, Num.23:19-21). We shall rededicate our lives to God invite Him for sanctification experience; and trust Him for the manifestation of power that will yield episodes of joy. (1Thess.5:23,24, Heb.1:8,9)
