Theme: The Unrecognized But Great Friend From Heaven
Topic: JESUS, THE SEED OF THE WOMAN
Texts: John 1:9-11; 5:1-7; Lk. 24:13-32
This theme was borne by the following
(i) the fact that multitudes do not know who Jesus really is, consequently, they live under the power and at the mercy of spiritual wickedness in high places (2 Cor. 4:4; Eph. 2:2); (ii) the fact that those who seem to have known Him do not know Him sufficiently, hence they are achieving little or nothing through Him (Expatiate).
Having now seen what spurred this special programme, it is left for each and every one of us to decided to tap all the benefits of the period.
JESUS – THE SEED OF THE WOMAN
It is common knowledge that Satan influenced the natural serpent and caused Adam and Eve to disobey the commandment of God (Gen. 3:1-6). Following the disobedience, the Lord God decreed retribution for all parties to the sin –
(i) the natural serpent and the spiritual serpent that influenced it; (ii) Eve and Adam. His prophetic retribution for the natural serpent and Satan (the spiritual serpent that influenced it) reads, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman; and between thy seed and her seed; it (her seed) shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Gen. 3:15). In this prophetic declaration of judgement, a number of personalities are involved.
(1) The Natural Serpent (2) The Spiritual Serpent, Satan (3) The Woman; (4) The Seed Of The Woman. Let us now see how the punishment decreed against the natural serpent and the spiritual serpent (Satan) was shared to them.
(A) THE RETRIBUTION TO THE NATURAL SERPENT
- It was cursed above all cattle and beasts of the field (Gen. 3:14).
- It lost its legs and began to crawl with the belly (Gen. 3:14).
- It was given dust for food.
- Great enmity was established between it and Eve (with her children). The woman’s children were to bruise its head (Gen. 3:15).
Note that all these aspects of the punishment decreed that day are still operational right now. The enmity between the woman (with her seed) and the natural serpent is as strong as ever. The hatred and rage with which men and women deal with serpents is known to all.
(B) THE RETRIBUTION TO THE SPIRITUAL SERPENT (SATAN)
The punishment for the spiritual serpent (Satan) is buried inside that decreed for the natural serpent. There was to be enmity between the woman and Satan and between the seed of the woman and the serpent (Gen. 3:15a). The seed of the woman (it) would bruise the head of Satan (the spiritual serpent) (Gen. 3:15a).
The seed of the woman is the coming Messiah – Jesus (Isa. 7:14; 9:6-7; Matt. 1:18-23; Jon. 1:14; Rom. 1:1-3; 8:3; Gal. 3:16; 4:4; Phil. 2:5-11; 1 Tim. 3:16; 2 Tim. 2:8; Heb. 1:1-8).
Because of this declaration, throughout the ministry of Jesus, Satan and his works were not spared. With enmity and bitterness, He cast devils out of human beings they had possessed and removed all the afflictions they put on them (eg. Matt. 4:23-24; Mark 5:1-13; 9:17-27; Lk. 13:10-16 etc). Also, in keeping with God’s decree of punishment, He gave His servants authority to do as He did (Lk. 9:1-2). In turn, His servants, with the same attitude of mind toward Satan cast devils out of human beings and removed their loads/afflictions from them (eg. Lk.10:17, Acts 8:5-8).
- WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR US TODAY?
The RETRIBUTION that the Lord God decreed against the spiritual serpent through the Seed Of The Woman is still on right now. The original seed of the woman (Jesus) is gone to heaven. But His servants are here on earth. They have been commanded to hate Satan and his works against human beings and to bruise his head by dislodging him from his habitation of human beings and removing his load/affliction or works from them (cp. Lk. 9:1-2, 10: etc).

The serious ministration of destroying the works of Satan against human beings, as well as delivering those possessed of devils must follow this revelation teaching/message.
