Theme: PURITY AND POWER

As we continue to appreciate the Most High for His faithfulness and sustenance at this time of rapidly escalating global insecurity, economic decline, moral decadence and spiritual blackout; as reinvigorators, we must not forget that there are things that God by His nature cannot compromise; there is a divine expectation for all those that desire to maintain connection with Him and enjoy His blessings, hence our theme.
We shall be addressing our theme under the following daily points:

Topic: UNVEILING THE POWER IN PURITY
By power, we mean
ability to act or produce effect, exercise control, accomplish
objectives (Acts 1:8).
By Purity, we mean the
state or quality of being clean, free from moral wrong. It describes persons that are unpolluted, unmixed or innocent (free from sin, guilt or evil intent).
It is about freedom from anything that contaminates; the quality of being faultless, uncompromised or unadulterated. It is often used in the scriptures to communicate holiness and perfection (Matt.5:8).
When the season of divine fulfillment reached, the Lord God called Abram to purity (Gen.17:1). When Prophet Isaiah was due for ministerial upgrade, the Lord passed him through a purification process (Isa.6:1-7).
The demand for purity is due to God’s nature which cannot coexist with impurities
(Habkk.1:13; Ps.12:6; 18:30; 145:17; Rev.21:18).
At creation, all things were pure, orderly and so good; and man was created to reflect His image and to live in pure unbroken communion with Him (Gen.1:27 ). But at the fall, the purity was corrupted and the resulting impurity which is a major factor that keeps man away from God’s presence set in (Gen.3:7-11; 1Cor.6:9-10; Gal.5:19-21; Col.3:5-6).
So, sin is a corrupter of purity (Ps.14:1-3). Impurity renders a person or people unfit
for entrance into God’s presence or communion (Pro.14:34; Jn.3:3,5; Eph.5:5;
Jas.4:8). And to restore fellowship with the holy Being, we must reclaim the purity that was intended for us, originally (Ps.24:3,4).
In the Old Testament: At the building of the tabernacle, God specified the use of pure materials to build the lampstand, etc and to offer in the holy place (Exo.25:31- 33; 37:1-2,16; Lev.24:1-2,7).
People’s purity was to be reclaimed through sacrificing of animals in God’s specified
way: having promised to purify them if they kept all His commandments (Lev.22:31- 33), His Sabbaths (Lev.26:1-2) and His sacrifices (Exo.8:27). So repentance and faith in the sacrificial law were sufficient for God to pronounce His people righteous (Pro.28:13; Ps.32:1).
In the New Testament: Purity is reclaimed by faith in the finished work of Calvary (Rom.3:23-24; 6:3-7) which imputes righteousness to our accounts (2Cor.5:21).
After the new birth and its imputed righteousness, the believer is required to live in purity in all his dealings with others (1Pet.1:15-16; Eph.5:1-8; 1Cor.10:7-12; 6:18; Lk.6:31; Ezek.45:10). He stays away from all contaminants: ungodly associates (1Cor. 15:33, 2Cor. 6:14-17), worldliness (2Cor.7:1; 1Jn. 2:15-17).
Purity should define our thought life (2Cor.10:5; Phil. 4:8), our word (Eph.4:29-30; Col. 4:6) and our actions (1Cor.10:31).
Purity attracts God’s presence defined by His unsearchable power (Matt.5:8; Heb.12:24). The disciples had to wait in the upper room to be purged of their impurities before the Power fell on them (Acts 1:4,8; 2:1-4).
Purity gave the Lord Jesus the advantage of unrivalled power and unrestricted access to God’s holy presence (Jn.8:29; Heb.1:8,9). When the heart is beclouded with impurities (fears, worries, anxiety, lust, doubts, cares of this life, deceitfulness of riches) the believer can neither experience His presence nor clearly hear His voice (1Kgs.19:11-12; Job 33:14; Jas.4:4).
The believer must therefore seek to grow and maintain purity of life/heart (1Thess.5:23; Eph. 1:4; Acts 24:16; Isa.6:1-7).
