In  the  introductory  session,  we  treated  “Blood  Shedding:  the  meeting  of God’s  demands”;  in  which  we  exposed  the  power  in  the  blood  to  preserve life and cover sin in the Old covenant. Then, concluded with the perfect work of atonement done  by  the  Blood  of  Jesus Christ,  which  nobody  can afford  to neglect because of the consequences (Heb.2:1-3). Today, we shall be considering: Topic: BLOOD OF SPRINKLING: THE VOICE OF EXPRESSION OF DIVINE SATISFACTION Subtexts: Exo.24:6-8; Heb.9:19-28; 12:22,24; 1Pet.1:2 In physiology, blood is the medium of transportation of nutrients and oxygen to different parts of the body in complex organisms to sustain life. Spiritually,  it  is  also  considered  as  a life-carrier  (Lev.17:11),  and  the  ancients knew its value and made it a token of ratification of serious covenants/agreements  such  that  involved  parties  become  lifelong  partners  in a common wealth; sharing all things in common, what belongs to one belongs to  the  other:  friends,  enemies,  resources,  etc.  It  could  not  be  renegotiated  or disbanded (Gen. 21:22-32 cp. Jos. 9:3-18). God entered a blood covenant with Abram (Gen.15:9-12) and Israel (Exo.24:6-8). The sprinkled blood served as both a sanctifier and a connector to the Divinity, making them people of God (Deut.4:1-2,7). This is the old covenant consisting of human responsibilities and divine promises – sealed with the blood of animals. At the fullness of time, a new covenant was established with man sealed with the blood of a Perfect Man, carrying responsibilities (which are relatively more intricate but easier–Matt.11:28,29) and divine promises that excels above the former (Heb.8:4-6). The  Lord  Jesus  entered  into  the  real  holy  place–heaven  with  His  blood  to plead the cause of believers and of sinners at the verge of salvation (Heb.9:18-24, 27-28). It is this precious blood that is speaking in the court of heaven (Heb.12:24). The Blood declares the accomplishment of the Lord Jesus  for  mankind  (Matt.1:21;  Jn.19:30;  1Jn.3:8).Speaking better thingsis a metaphor that eulogizes the Blood of Jesus reflecting the matchless accomplishment. What then is the Blood saying in heaven?
  1. Access has been established to God (Heb.4:16; 10:9-22).
There is the right to speak freely without fear of rejection and enjoy access to the court of the Most High. This  was  symbolized by  the  tearing  of  the  veil  of  the  temple  (Matt.27:51).  It makes a declaration for the believer crying for mercy, forgiveness and full access. This begets the purification of the conscience (Heb.9:13-14). The speaking Blood sets apart whatever it covers and cleanses amidst all imperfections (1Jn.1:7). The Blood of Jesus Christ is the most powerful legal force in the universe.
  1. Authority over the Enemy has been Established (Eph.1:20-22, 26; Rev. 12:11).
The Blood established the victory, having been shed on behalf of man that was tricked by Satan (Gen.3:9; Rom.6:16,11:33). God’s  wisdom  designed  that  Satan  should  foolishly  kill  an  innocent  Man not worthy of death for He had never committed any sin, only that sin was divinely imputed  on  Him;  hence  death  could  not hold  Him down (Ezek.18:4,20;  Acts 2:24; 1Cor.2:7,8). Authority is wielded in faith/confidence declaring what the Blood has accomplished at times of declaration or decrees (Rev.12:11; Eph.6:12).
  1. Accomplishment of Demand of Justice (Gal.6:7; Matt.5:17; Isa.53:3- 5,8,10,11)
Justice demands that people be rewarded according to their works, so mankind  whose  works  are  evil  should  reap  evil  in  all  ramifications  of  life.  But as  Someone  has  paid  for  the  sins  of  mankind,  nobody  has  right  to  withhold anything good from people that have connected to the substitutionary death. Therefore, the accuser of brethren should not torment any believer for past sins (Rev,12:10; cp. 2Cor.8:9; Rom.8:1).
  1. Ratification of the New Covenant (Matt.26:26-28; LK.22:20; Heb.13:20) In divine covenants, there are human responsibilities and divine promises. As the fall of man affected all dimensions of his existence – spirit, soul and body, so did the restoration (Rom. 5:12).
Therefore, the goodies that go with the everlasting covenant should be enjoyed by the believer (Rom. 5:1; 2Cor.8:9; Heb. 8:6 cp. Matt. 6:33). Here lies the healing rights, the wounds and stripes being the legal exchange for health. Our sicknesses (maladies) were placed on him while his health was credited to us. These are covenant rights that a believer stands on with awareness, when the enemy brings facts of ill health (Isa.53:4-5,10-11; 1Pet.2:24). Therefore, the Blood of Jesus is speaking divine satisfaction for Jesus’sacrifice, hence crying out for forgiveness, mercy, peace, purity, joy and every lovely thing that was paid for (Matt.6:33). The believer must not go for anything less.
