The long awaited end-time by the Church, which we have found ourselves, bears the very marks of the predicted: characteristic faith is scarce and love of many has waxed cold (Lk. 18:8; Matt. 24:12). The climate of iniquity (violation of the law) has been fostered  and hoisted by the people in the global leadership, and so any person that chooses to follow after piety or virtue is strongly resisted (Isa. 5:20; 2 Tim. 3:13). It becomes very  imperative to address the matter of spiritual violence being the door that accesses peace. In the secular world, there is the strategy of governance called “peace through strength” in which powerful nations bare their fangs to frighten others and earn respect. The message shall be brought under 3 points:
  1. The Violence Against The Kingdom B. The Violent In The Kingdom
  2. The Verdict That Cannot Be Compromised
  3. THE VIOLENCE AGAINST THE KINGDOM
The  Greek  word  translated  violence  is  biazō  (pronounced  bee-ad-zo) means to force, to crowd oneself into, in other words “To  press  violently  or force one‟s way into. It was also used in Luke 16:16 as “press”. The Lord‟s statement reveals that there was an intentional siege against God‟s system on earth to thwart God‟s purpose, since the coming of John the Baptist. It should be noted that Israel had been in spiritual darkness for about three centuries (after the Book of Malachi). There were times when some Jews arose to defend their nation against their enemies during the Maccabean era, but those were just patriotic Jews and not anointed men of God. The  rise  of  that  lone voice  in  the wilderness  carrying  conviction was  a clear signal that deliverance was around the corner for mankind and so must be viciously resisted (Matt. 11:12). Today, the devils are more informed than then, having suffered the humiliation and defeat from Jesus at the cross (Jn. 12:31; 19:30; Col. 2:15). They currently know that their time is fast ticking when they will have no more access to the earth, when they will be confined to hell fire for their reward for all eternity.     They are pressing against  the church from all directions: through persecution (Matt.4:22; 2Tim.3:12; Jn.16:20-22,33), infiltration and adulteration of doctrine/faith (Acts 20:28-31; Gal.1:8; 1Tim.6:3; 1Jn.4:1-3; Rev. 2:14-15,24), embellishing carnality, worldliness and all sorts of immorality so as to quench the spirit (Rev. 2:20-22; 1Cor.6:18; 3:3-5). These activities have stopped many from progressing in the kingdom. But that should not be.
  1. THE VOILENT IN THE KINGDOM
The Greek word biastēs (pronounced bee-as-tace) was translated violent (Matt.11:12). The word means a forceful man. It is figurative of „energetic‟ John the Baptist was rugged and energetic, leading an ascetic life. He fearlessly rebuked sin and didn‟t make any room for ungodly compromise (Matt.14:1-5; 3:1-10). The Lord Jesus was a Model in zeal for the kingdom, defending the sanctity of the  temple  and  reproving  hypocrites  (Jn.2:13,17;  Matt.23:1-23).  The  apostles and disciples were equally jealous for the kingdom, hence resisting unto death (Acts 7:54-58; 12:1-2; 2Cor.11:21-33). These were people that loved the Lord as Jesus required of His disciples (Matt.10:37-38). They refused to yield to weakness of the flesh, and stayed alert at all times (Eph.6:10-17; Matt. 24:42). They  know  that  the  devils  lurk  around  all  corners  to  find  fault  or  oppress,  so they stand firm in righteousness to resist the devil (1Pet.5:8,9; Jas.4:7). They are sober and don‟t take anything for granted (1Pet.5:8). They supplicate and enjoy the peace that passes all understanding (Phil.4:6-7).
  1. THE VERDICT THAT CANNOT BE COMPROMISED
God‟s ruling is that only the pure will enter into life (Rev.21:27; Matt.5:8). If men and women that understood it died for the cause, God will not change the standard because of passage of time, hence Jesus‟ warning that people should strive to enter (Lk. 13:24). Therefore, let the weak arise and stand for Jesus and His kingdom: shun worldliness  and  all  sins;  and  take  up  your  Bible  to  contend  for  the  faith.  Pour out your heart in prayer and the peace of the Lord will be your lot (Jas. 4:4; 1 Jn. 2:15-17; Jude 3). Be spiritually violent.
