Theme: REAPING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND DIVINE REMEMBERANCE Texts: Gen. 8:20-22; Hos. 10:12; Jn. 4:35-38; Gal.6:7 Topic: TARES IN THE TEMPLE   Subtexts: Matt.13:24-30,37-43; 1Cor.3:16-18
The daily headlines of the media are accurate manifestations of prophesies made in the Bible times about 2000-2600 years ago. With hundreds of these current realities, it will be quite foolish for anyone to neglect the outstanding few that are evidently imminent, like the catching away of the saints (1Thess. 4:13-17; 1Cor.15:51-53), the great tribulation and the marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev.19:9).   With the structure of the Antichrist‟s government already in place: New World Order, cashless society, Ecumenism (One World Religion), Artificial Intelligence and transhumanism, fearful sights from heaven (Lk.21:26), etc, should there still be tares in the temple?   It is necessary to remind all that the programme at hand is divinely designed to purify and empower participants to progress at this perilous period. Participants must therefore be open to the truth, and pay attention to understand and appropriate the message. (Pro.10:17; 13:13; 28:9,14; Eccl.7:5; Lk.10:42).   The message shall come under the following subsections:   A). The Temple Defined (B) The Tares Described (C) The Throes Awaiting The Tares.   A). THE TEMPLE, DEFINED   The temple in the context of our message refers to the body of Christ (1Cor.3:16). The body of Christ consists of people called out of sin and the world for a special service to the Lord (1Pet.2:9; Rev.5:5). They are called the church (Greek Ekklesia) meaning “the called out ones” (cons. Acts 7:38). So they are people saved from sin and equipped with power to do right (Jn.1:12; Rom.6:14; Eph.2:8-10; Tit.2:11-14; 1Jn.3:8,9).   They are held together by the bond of love (Jn.12:34,25; Col.3:14). As the church in the wilderness recorded the existence of the mixed multitude, so are there people that can be classified as “tares in the temple” (Exo.12:36-39; Num.11:4-11).   B). THE TARES, DESCRIBED (Matt. 13:25-27)   „Tares‟ refer to the darnel weed which is a poisonous plant that looks almost identical to wheat until maturity. Tares is a metaphor for deception and are many in the church at this end of the church age (Matt.24:4-5).   Tares represent as follows:
  • Those injected into the assembly by Satan with a demonic mission (Matt.13:27-28). They include the seducers (marine agents, etc), spies, and occultists with mission to destroy; false ministers with ulterior motives (Acts 16:16-18; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; 1 Jn. 4:1; Rev. 2:20-24).
  • Those that were originally sincere but deviated into error along the way and began to profess error (Rev. 2:14-16, 3:4-5; Jud 4-6; 2 Jn, 7-11; 1 Tim. 4:1-3
  • Those that refuse to be changed by the word of God though they may like the goodies in the church (Ezek.33:31-33). So they love the blessings of God but not God Himself (Matt.15:7-8; Jn.14:21,23). They are hypocrites like Judas Iscariot who participated in all walks of Jesus‟ ministry yet refused to give up covetousness (Matt.10:2-8; Jn.12:3-8; 6:70; 13:21-30).
Tares represent those that appear righteous but are not, like Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-10; Matt.23:23-30). Consider the spouse abuser in the home; the extortioner, the drug addict, the alcoholic, child abuser, fornicator, adulterous, cheat, dupe, etc.   Tares include all those in church whose activities compete with the well being of the children of God, like the mixed multitude in the wilderness (Num.11:4-6). These are the ungodly bold who initiate strife and sedition in the church (3Jn.9; Rom.16:17-18).   Some of them like Absalom use different means to steal the hearts of multitude who ultimately come under their control in the evil day (2Sam.15:1-11,13).   Any attempt to forcefully eject tares can endanger the wheat ie true children of the kingdom (Matt.13:28-30). Therefore, they are handled with wisdom.   C). THE THROES AWAITING TARES (Matt.13:27-30, 39-41; 1Cor.3:17) Throes mean intense pain, struggle or spasms as seen at child birth or death. It signifies a state of severe physical or emotional agony or upheaval.   The experience of tares in the temple are as follows: Because of the Lord‟s jealousy for his temple and interest for salvation of   souls (Ezek.18:23; 33:11; 1Tim.2:4), He will unleash judgment to the unyielding persons causing loss of peace and sorrows of diverse kind, (Job 5:13; Ps.119:71; Isa.48:22; 57:21).   However if they remain recalcitrant, they will pay the ultimate price of eternal damnation (Prov.11:21; 8:13-14; 29:1; Matt.13:41,42; Lk.13:24-28).   Remember, hell is not open to only hypocrites but also all that will follow the way of Satan, as well as those that carelessly died in sin (Rev.21:8, Matt, 25:41).   Let there be introspection as we rise to pray.  Are you a tare?
