It is only those that are expecting Him that can properly prepare for the event (1 Jn. 3:1-3). There will be surprises (Matt. 7:21-23; Lk. 13:24-30).   Today, we shall be looking at:   Topic: THE CALCULATIONS OF THE COMING CHARIOT   Subtext:  Jer. 8:18-22   By calculations, we mean careful thinking, self-seeking deliberation, an assessment of the risks, possibilities or effects of a situation. Our lead scripture (subtext) is a lamentation of Jeremiah because of the decadence of his people irrespective of the voices of several prophets that should have bettered their lives. He had earlier mourned over the activities of false prophets that gave false hope to the people while they thrived in their rebellion (Jer. 8:11,12).   Earlier in the scriptures, Lot’s wife had the privilege of deliverance from the fire of God’s judgment but blew it (Gen. 19:12- 26); Balaam despised all the warnings of God, and suffered premature death (Num. 22:12-33); Cain rejected God’s warning and died as a vagabond (Gen. 4:4-13).   So, the message has to do with careful consideration of implication of missing out in the great event that will lead to the greatest festivity of human race (Rev. 19:6-9).   Parents should think of the aftermath of leaving spouses or children behind as well as being left behind by these. The same holds for siblings, friends, colleagues, neighbours etc. How will one fit into the new society that will be birthed by the sudden departure of saints (1 Thess. 4:13-17)   We shall look at what is currently brooding (The secular incubation) and then see what we should be breeding (The saintly Investment)  

1. THE SECULAR INCUBATION

  There are many things happening in the world that point to the nearness of Christ’s advent starting from the prophesy of the Olivet discourse (Matt. 24:3-15; Lk. 21:7-12,20-32, 34) through the revelations of Apostle Paul to Timothy (1 Tim. 4:1-2; 2 Tim. 3:1-5).   Our focus shall be on revelations from just two books of the Bible: In the Old testament, Daniel 2:42-44 speaks of the last kingdom/empire that will preceed the millennial reign of Kingdom of Christ. There is the mention of Iron mixing with miry clay which suggests the phenomenon of man mingling with some other “material”. This gives credence to the doctrine of Trans-humanism where man mixes with robot (AI). This is the trend amongst the developed nations: rat race of AI; pursuing being the first to get to Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) in which the computer will exceed human cognitive abilities in every domain, such as reasoning, creativity, problem-solving and emotion intelligence. An ASI would possess general, universal understanding and the ability to perform any intellectual task at a level far beyond human capacity. It will be a problem solver and will present significant risk including the potential for existential threats (cons. Rev. 13:11-17). There is great progress in the quest to make robots take over work from man, so that there will be Universal Basic Income which will make people predisposed to taking the digital mark (Rev. 13:16-18). Nations are being programmed to depend on some corporate entities for agricultural sustenance with Genetically modified organisms.   The Antichrist structure is being set up with global identification marks (documentation) and digital currencies; and AI driven transportation systems. There will also be fake aliens invasion designated to bring people under bondage.    

1. THE SAINTLY INVESTMENT

  With the fangs of the antichrist system already baring, wisdom demands that the saint should see the time as the last hour of the church age and make unrestricted investment (Matt. 20:6; Gal. 6:7; 2 Thess. 2:1 -7). With the sign of the fig leaves apparent, no one can afford to be negligent or indifferent to God’s demand (Matt. 24:32-34,37-39,42 -44; 2 Pt. 3:3-4). The child of God must live as one expecting the Master today (1 Jn. 3:2-3; Heb. 12:14,15; Rom. 12:18; Jn. 9:4, 4:34).   Being engaged in a life of holiness and acts of righteousness will keep a believer ready for the rapture and free from the consequences of missing the chariot.
