WATCHMAN CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL MOVEMENT FIRST FRUIT FASTING FELLOWSHIP 2025 (JULY EDITION) Day 2
Theme: REVELATION OF THE RIGHT-HAND OF HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS
Texts: Isa.41:8-14; 54:10-17; Matt.6:33
In the introductory session, we explored the various nuances of righteousness which principally means the quality or character of being right or just. We saw it as an attribute of God; found in the sayings of Christ regarding whatever is right in itself that conforms to the revealed will of God (Matt.5:6,10,20), whatever has been appointed by God to be acknowledged and obeyed (Matt.3:15; 21:32); the sum total of the requirements of God (Matt.6:33); religious duties (Matt.6:1-18). It is also used for the gift of right relationship with God (2Cor.5:21; Rom.4:6,11).
We also saw the symbolic meaning of right-hand:
ownership, power or
control that its possessor exercises.
From this, we deduced the right hand of His righteousness as the enigmatic manifestation of God’s invincible glory following the attainment of God’s stipulated conditions or righteousness (Matt.6:33). It signifies God’s power, protection, and commitment to justice and moral integrity. It is the promise of victory over enemies and empowerment to do so.
In the light of this truth, we shall be examining:
Topic: DOMINION IN DISCIPLESHIP
Sub-texts: Matt.28:16-20; Mk.16:15-20
Matthew’s account of the great commission records the awesome information of the Master stating that He has obtained Authority over all creatures, enjoining them to proceed to
teach (Gk.
Mathetӗuo means ‘
to enroll as a scholar, or disciple) all nations, baptizing them in the name of……
teaching (Gk.
Didasko denotes ‘
to cause to learn, to effect learning’) them to observe all thing, whatsoever I have commanded you. He concluded with the promise of divine availability to the end of the age.
Mark concluded his book with the same great commission laying emphasis on the supernatural manifestations that will accompany their veritable service (v.17-18) and the prompt obedience of the disciples to the commission, with the concomitant divine attestation.
The information relayed by both authors shows that the supernatural service of gospel dispensation goes with the exhibition of supernatural demonstrations (1Cor.2:1,4-5). And if there is no deterioration, gospel work
goes with concomitant supernatural confirmation (Heb.13:8; Matt.28:20b).
We shall look at
(A) Dominion Exhibited by the Early Disciples (B) Dominion Expected of the Latter Days Disciples.
- DOMINION EXHIBITED BY THE EARLY DISCIPLES
The Disciples of Jesus matured for service after the Pentecostal experience and divine power surged through them (Acts 2:37-41, 4:4). They received deeper insight into the scriptures and the words that the Master gave them (Jn.1426; 15:26) and so appreciated their authority and exhibited control over spiritual entities that came on their way (Lk.10:19; Acts 8:5-13; 13:6-12; 16:16-19); they were focused on the Masters’ business and so could clearly decipher the voice of the Lord (Mk.10:28; Acts 2:1,42-47; 8:26-31; 10:9-21; 16:4-10), and acted responsibly (Acts 3:1-8; 4:15-20; 5:17-25; 13:1-4,6-12;
15:36). They did the work with enthusiasm and so God blessed their hands (1Sam.2:30; Pro.28:19). They fulfilled their ministries (Jn.21:18-19; 2Tim.4:5-8).
- DOMINION EXPECTED OF LATTER DAYS DISCIPLES
As the Lord informed the early disciples of His advantaged position so that they would seamlessly exercise dominion, so is He expecting that His disciples operating at the terminal part of the church age to use all available facilities to do same.
The contemporary church has vast amount of resources at her behest to do exploits. Knowledge has astronomically increased in all ramifications: scientific, social, matrimonial and spiritual (Dan.12:4).
However the place of consecration and commitment cannot be replaced with use of advanced methods and equipment (Rom.12:1-3; Gal.2:20).
Whilst David was addicted to the use of wooden instruments of music to worship, he was a man of prayer; hence the sacking of evil spirit through musical instruments (1Sam.16:22-23; Ps.23:1-5).
The present day disciples must return to the Lord with decision and determination to fulfill divine purpose as did the pioneers.
Let us return to field and harvest souls for the fields are white already to harvest (Jn.4:35; Rom.1:16; 10:13-15; 1Cor.9:16).
Remember that this kingdom investment is righteousness which has a right hand that yields tremendous unassailable reward (Mk.16:20; Acts 4:33).
