Theme: BEHOLD, THE FINGER OF GOD!
Texts: Ex. 8:16-19; Lk. 11:14-20
As earlier stated, the finger of God refers to God’s manifested power or revelatory power. And as the magicians recognized the superlative power of God so shall all your opponents acknowledge God’s power over your life.
We proceeded to expound the maxim “The Devil has no Power”. Showing that though he retained the power that he was created with and so causes effects, yet when compared with the power of the Creator or His resurrected Son, Satan is infinitesimally weak. We also said that he does not have any authority on earth as it belongs to God.
Today, we shall be exploring the truth: The Disciples Are Empowered To Dominate.
Topic: DISCIPLES ARE EMPOWERED TO DOMINATE

To empower means to give someone authority or power to do something
To dominate means to have command or influence over something; be in control or have the power to defeat; to enjoy an elevated position over (a place),
The Lord knowing the weakness of man and the relative disadvantage over devils who are spirit beings, did not leave His people vulnerable (Ps. 103:13-14; Rom. 8:26; Eph. 1:17,19). It is the awareness of their divine assets and decoration that positions them for victory in all circumstances (Acts 3:1-6, 8:5-13, 9:32-34, 36-42).
We shall highlight the formidable FORCE behind the believers (especially the baptized in the Holy Spirit) that constitutes our weapons of war (2 Cor. 10:4):
- Authority of the Lord Jesus Christ (Lk. 10:19; Matt. 28:18; Mk. 6:20). This authority is over all powers (dunamis) of darkness irrespective of their form or character of manifestation.
- Angelic assistance (Heb. 1:14).
They are regularly sent to assist the saints of God even as they did to Jesus (Matt. 4:11; Lk. 22:43; Heb. 12:22).
- Anointing or Power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:11,26). The Holy Spirit is the One that grants the power (dunamis) for prosperous Christian living. He enables the saint to effectively use the authority and apply the promises ( 1Jn. 2:27). He gives the gifts for service (1 Cor. 12:3-10). Whenever a believer gives Him His right place in his life, victorious, impactful Christian life will be natural. There is the transformative operation of God’s Spirit that is independent of the conscious contributory effort of a saint (Eph.1:19; Col.2:12; Jn.3:7-8). This spiritual metamorphosis flourishes when a saint submits to the divine operation.
- Accessories and Amenities of the spirit realm.
Accessories are things which can be added to something else in order to make it more useful, versatile or attractive. While amenities are desirable or useful features or facilities of a building. Under this category of empowerment are:
The blood of sprinkling that speaks (Heb. 12:24; Rev. 12:11) The sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17)
The confession of faith (Rom. 10: 10; Rev. 12:11)
The unabrogated spiritual sacrifices (Heb. 13:16,15; Hos. 14:2; Ps.
149: 2-9)
Prayer and fasting act as catalysts (Matt. 17:21)
When a believer who understands that he is seated in the heavenly places (Eph. 2:6), recognizes his divine decoration and utilizes the spiritual accessories and amenities, all antagonists will submit to his authority and he will rule over challenges of life as our Master Jesus did (2Cor.10:6; Jn.6:5,19). He will speak and creatures will obey (Mk.11:21-23; 5:1-8, 13-15; 4:35-39, 41), and his declarations/decrees will be established (Job 22:28-29)
Knowledge of these available resources, followed by the necessary action will set the stage rolling for the operation of the Finger of God.
Disciples are decorated with divine resources to dominate, let’s therefore rise to dominate henceforth: and make our declarations and enjoy the privileges of sons of God (Rom.8:19).
