WATCHMAN CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL MOVEMENT FIRST FRUIT FASTING FELLOWSHIP 2025 (MAY EDITION) Day 1
Theme: THINE IS THE KINGDOM, THE POWER & THE GLORY
Texts: 1 Chronicles. 29:10-12; Matt. 6:13
Welcome to the 5
th month of the year in the Era of Juggling in Jubilee Terrain; another month that promises divine protection, preservation, provision and exponential growth in all ramifications of life. We shall be making a detour from our series “Unveiling and Unearthing the Untapped Resources” to take the message titled:
“Thine is the Kingdom, the Power & the Glory.”
In the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, it is common knowledge that
“one is what he knows” (as the Apostle/man of God has always taught); and the Holy Scripture recommends the addition of knowledge to one’s faith inorder to be fruitful (2 Pt. 1:5,8).
The liberating power of knowledge cannot be over-emphasized as the Master Himself remarked (Jn. 8:32).
It is in this light of gaining knowledge to prosper that we are taking this message of the May Edition of our First Fruit Fasting Exercise.
This theme is the concluding phrase given by the Lord in the master piece prayer format prescribed to His disciples, which was paraphrased from King David’s prayer during the offering for the Temple (1 Chro. 29:11), and it stands as a doxology (A short/liturgical formula of praise to God).
We shall dissect and analyze the 3 key words of that phrase namely;
Kingdom, Power and
Glory to appreciate the weight of the Master’s closing statement. The message shall come under the headings (topics):
- Thine Is The Kingdom (B) Thine Is The Power
- Thine Is The Glory
TOPIC: THINE IS THE KINGDOM
Subtexts: Matt. 6:13; Rev. 11:15-17
The word translated kingdom is
basilӗia which means
the territory over which a king (or queen) has authority; or
a state or area having a monarchial form of government; or
one of the 3 comprehensive groups used to classify nature: the animal, plant and mineral kingdoms.
Basilӗia is an abstract noun denoting Sovereignty, Royal power, Dominion. In the sense of an organized system with a royal-headship,
we have (i)
kingdom of God/heaven (1 Chro. 28:5, 29:11-12; Ps. 145:10-12; Matt. 6:33, 13:11,24,31),
kingdoms of men (Lk. 4:5; Dan. 2:37-43),
kingdoms of spirits (Dan. 10:12-13,20; Eph. 6:12; Col. 1:16).
Now, the kingdom of God is the sphere/realm in which at any given time His rule is acknowledged. This was the case when Israel practiced theocracy (1 Chro. 28:5); and the perfect state was what the Lord Jesus asked His disciples to pray for, which shall be accomplished at His 2
nd advent when He will exercise His irresistible influence over all creation (Dan. 2:44; Matt. 6:10).
The kingdom of God is a kingdom
where sin has no grip and sickness is not real (Isa. 33:24),
food and water are blessed (Exo. 23:25; Rev. 22:1-3,14),
no defeat exists but life and immortality reign (1 Cor. 15:39-43; 1 Thess. 4:17; Rev. 21:1-7).
Now, even though rebellion abounds in Creation outside the kingdom of God, God has not relinquished His Sovereignty but has declared His purpose to establish it (Dan. 2:44, 7:14; 1 Cor. 15:24,25); so God has not ceded this earth to Satan (Ps. 24:1, 89:11, 115:16).
THE IMPLICATION OF THINE IS THE KINGDOM
The consideration and appreciation of God’s unique qualities of Omniscience, Omnipotence and Omnipresence seconded by His Authorship of the entire Creation, makes it easy to appreciate that the Kingdom is His (Matt. 6:13).
This means that all events happening in the universe should align with His will and are subject to the Lord’s authority (cons. Lam. 3:22; Dan. 4:17).
If there is therefore any circumstance that is not in consonance with God’s revealed will, an effective argument based on God’s word, will cause that circumstance to capitulate (Isa. 1:18, 41:21; Zech. 1:6).
It is the Watchman’s duty to search out God’s word, and wield the weapons of war against the works of wickedness, being rest assured that the Owner of the kingdom will hasten His word to perform (Matt. 24:35; Jer. 1:12; 2 Chro. 10:3-6).
Remember, God had known all the kingdoms that will sprout up on this earth from the foundation of the world. And His kingdom rules over all (Dan. 2:31-35, 37-44; 4:17, 32-35, 37; Isa. 48:3-8, 46:10).
