He is drawn by the kingdom of light who want him retained in the new faith, and who work by the consent of his will on one hand; and the kingdom of darkness who seek opportunity to intrude without his consent, and restore him to their camp (Isa.1:18; Jn.10:10; 1Pet.5:8; Exo.14:5-10).   The believer is disadvantaged by his human nature-carrying feeble mortal body against devils who are immortal spirit entities (Eph.6:12). However, the apparent disadvantage is catered for by the unequivocal deposit of the Spirit of the Creator vis-à-vis the backing of the hosts of heaven (2Cor.10:3-5; 5:5; Heb.12:22; 1Jn.4:4).   These fallen beings were temporarily in control of the earth after Adam delivered the authority to Satan in the garden, hence Satan’s appellation as “the prince of this world” (Greek Kosmos meaning orderly arrangement, the present condition of human affairs). But by the incontrovertible Calvary phenomenon, the authority cunningly stolen from man was retrieved and he was thereafter referred as the god of this age (2Cor.4:4 : the Greek word aiōn was translated world, but it means “an age” i.e. a period marked by certain spiritual or moral characteristics).   The planet earth remains the Lord’s and its fullness, and has not been ceded to Satan (Ps.24:1, 89:22, 115:16). Now, the question is, if the devils have no authority on earth, why do we have so much trouble from them. The answer is: they are envious beings that have been eternally condemned, whose inherent abilities (dunamis) were not retrieved from them after the fall. Their power (dunamis) consists of raw spiritual energy, wisdom, intelligence, experience, knowledge, etc., according to their ranks.   These demonic resources are their instruments used to deceive and destroy men. Now, because these beings are the product of God’s word (Logos), they and their instruments are subject to God’s word (Col.1:16-17; Jn.1:1-4). Knowledge of the character of God’s word will put the believer on the platform of endless victory.   The Word of God in a living Being containing particles of the Spirit of God (Heb.4:12; Jn. 6:63), Omnivalent (not comparable) in nature, able to conveniently adapt into any desired form to exercise control as a Sword (Eph. 6:12), Hammar (Jer. 23:29), Fire (Jer. 23:29), Water (Eph. 5:25-26), Mountain Mover (Mk. 11:23), Life giver or taker (Pro. 18:22; Matt. 21:18-22), Creator (1 kgs.18:36; Matt.17:24-27).   Wielding the word is simply putting the word into operation. This can come by quoting scriptures/promises (Matt. 4:4,7,10). Stating an analogy based on revelations of the scripture (Jer. 9:23,24; Judg. 9:17-19); confessing a conviction at a time of opposition (Pro.18:22) ,making a scriptural declaration by faith individually or corporately (Job 22:28’ Isa.44:26; Matt.18:18-20)   When people appreciate the omniscience of God; they will understand that God cannot give a promise that is mutable, or make a fallible plan (Heb.6:18-19) The fight of faith is a good fight (1Tim.6:12) and the faithful and obedient is bound to win (Isa.1:18; 2Tim.4:7)   If we wield God’s word against the enemy, he has no chance to survive. He is bound to leave for at least a season (Lk.4:13, Jas. 4:7). Wield the WORD and win the war.
