This made him make some statements of ignorance, attributing his dilemma to God. However, the battered man had a strong foundation of faith in the Lord Whom he rendered the appellation: Redeemer. Similarly, the widely travelled and experienced Apostle Paul indicated that he saw the Lord as a faithful durable Preserver. These men had some interesting knowledge of God that is worthy of emulation. Our message shall come under the following: (A) The Circumstances Surrounding The Saints (B) The Confession Of The Faithful   (A)    THE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE SAINTS Job had been blasted by the activities of Satan whose capabilities he was ignorant of. He was in great anguish of heart as a result of the demise of his entire offspring; as well as the tender sores that covered his body and its attendant reproach, plus the emotional turmoil generated by the flurry of accusations from his acquaintances ( cons. Job1:14-21, 2:4-9, 19:10,13-20). Nevertheless, in the midst of the apparent horror, lay a gleam of faith and trust (Job1:21-22, 2:8-10). The same situations held for the apostle, save that he was more knowledgeable. One of the challenges a believer must necessarily learn to handle is to stay positive in the midst of defying confrontations of life (cons. Ps.137:1-4; Acts 16:25; 2Cor.11:24-28). (B)    THE CONFESSION OF THE FAITHFUL Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Matt.12:34). And it must be noted that the words that proceed from a man’s mouth affect his well-being (Pro.18:21). The appellation that Job rendered to God as Redeemer threw some light as to how he saw the Lord. (Job.19:25,25). The basic use of the word ‘Redeemer’ had to do with the deliverance of persons or properties that had been sold for debts (Ruth 2:20; Num.35:12,19,21,24,27). The kinsman – Redeemer was responsible for preserving the integrity (soundness), of life, property and family name of a close relative or for executing justice upon his murderer. Such are people that have the well-being of family members at heart. This, God promised to be to His people (Exo.6:6, cf. Ps.77:15), and he did fulfil (Exo.15:13; Ps.78:35; Isa.43:1; 51:10). So the acutely ailing Job had a lot of confidence still remaining in God. Similarly, Apostle Paul cruised through the formidable obstacles of life by the faith he expressed in God (2Tim.1:12). He remained undaunted by the barrage of oppositions and confessed positively until his glorious exit. (Cons. 2Tim.4:6-8). OUR CONCLUSION: The far-reaching faith that Job had in God by which he posited that the faithfulness of God will endure until the latter times (which he was yet to see), as we know, yielded a double fold dividend (Job 42:10-13) We dwell at an age of uncertainties when dangers lurk around every corner of life: socially, spiritual, environmentally (health-wise), economically, etc; and the average man in the street feels the bite of the social degradation. Therefore, the child of God that wants to excel in the midst of these oppositions must believe in the all-able God (Heb.11:6; Phil.4:13; Rom.8:29; Dan.11:32; Jer.32:26,27; Isa.43:1-7; 40:28,29; 38:1-6; 26:3; Pro.18:10; 29:26; Ps.756,7,10; 1Sam.2:2-10). In conclusion, believe in Whom I have known and your stones of life shall be turned into pillows! Let’s rise to pray.                                             HSCF144, 138
