SUNDAY LIGHT (30/05/21) Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement   Topic:          PROSPERING THROUGH PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS Texts:          Ezra 4:23,24, 5:1-5; Hag.1:1-14   INTRODUCTION: We dwell at a time of peril and distress, when knowledge and wisdom are most valuable; as much of one’s accomplishment is determined by the knowledge he possesses and the wisdom applied (Jn.8:32, Prov.4:7).   God’s people have been known to advance through the ministry of prophets (God’s oracles); and today, the Lord would have His people to learn same (Rom.15:4).   Our message shall be delivered under the following points: (A) Prophetic Declarations Described (B) Power of Prophecy (C) Ploughing with Prophecies.
  • PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS DESCRIBED (2Pt.1:20,21)
By “prophetic declarations” we mean the content of words spoken under the influence of the Holy Ghost. The vessel of utterance may be a genuine man of God (Zeph.1:1-6, Hag.1:1-3, Acts 21:10-13) or a backslider (1Kgs.13:11-24) or a sinner in a position of authority (Jn.11:49-51) or young people/children (Ps.8:2, Acts 21:8,9).   However, it must be noted that God uses vessels as occasion demands; but by principle, will not usually use unholy vessels for holy services (cons. Matt.7:6,Hag.2:11-14). The people that the Lord uses regularly for such declarations are sanctified men/women of integrity (1Sam.12:1-5, 2Tim.2:19-21). The declared words can be (i) instruction given to guide (Acts13:1-2) (ii) Information predicting future events (Acts 21:10-13, Jer.32:36-40). Whatever form the declaration comes, the Lord would have His people respond appropriately.
  • POWER IN PROPHECY
Prophetic declarations or prophesies are words spoken under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (God); and so carry the potency of God’s word (Heb.4:12, Matt.24:35, Zech.1:1-6, Isa.55:10,11). Therefore, whenever God’s words are wielded, or made reference to in prayers, the heavens are called to attention, and are bound to act (cons. Ezk 37:1-10, Jer.1:10-12).
  • PLOUGHING WITH PROPHECIES (Ezra 5:1-2, 1Cor.14:1-5)
Christian work is likened to working in an agricultural setting (Matt.13:3-9, 18-23, Jn.4:35-38, 1Cor.3:3-9). Prophetic declarations are vital implements in the vineyard, hence the office of the prophet (Eph.4:11,14). The post-exilic construction work that was temporarily scuttled by the emperor’s decree, was reignited by prophecy and also prospered thereby (Ezra 4:23,24, 5:1-5, Hag.1:1-14).   Today, there is a good number of prophecies that can be used for prosecution at the court of heaven e.g “Blood is flowing and blood is speaking”. “They shall proceed no further.” “By whom shall Jacob arise? “Watchman are sacred cows”.   It is high time we started making use of the implement of prophetic declarations in our daily spiritual exercise in order to obtain optimal results.   HSCF 236, 218
