Charismatic Hour (27/04/21)
Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement
Topic: BEHOLD, THE DAYS COME!
Texts: Jer. 31:1-6, 27-35,38
When the children of Israel were under Babylonian captivity, the Lord announced to them of the better days ahead – the days of deliverance and restoration. (Jer.31:1-6, 8; Isa.43:19). His commitment to the covenant He made with Abraham (Gen.15:7-21), and with Israel (Exo.19:3-8; Deut.28:1-30:10), made Him to do that because of His attributes. (Num.23:19).
In the same way, the Lord has promised His servant, the General Superintendent of the Watchman, that “I will bring you into that which I have called and that without measure”. The Lord would have us understand that though there be social political/economic turbulences now, there are better days ahead. In this second phase in the Ministry’s calling, the Lord has decided to show us mercy by rebuilding, restoring and planting us, as well as recovering everything we have lost. (Joel 2:25-27; Jer.31:10-14). He has begun it through the teachings now on course.
For more insight and benefits we shall consider the following points.(1) The Promise (2) The Personality (3) The People.
(1) THE PROMISE (Jer.31:1-11, 27-38)
The Lord promised the children of Israel better days in which He said He will bring them out of captivity, show them mercy, restore and build them. In the same way the Lord has promised us better days and years ahead of us in this second phase in the Movement. These days are meant for possessing fullness of Christ through recovering, restoring, building and multiplying us; yielding us joy and rejoicing as a result of the recovering (Joel 2:25-27; Jer. 31:4-8, 27-28,31,38). God through the mouth of His servant had told the Watchmen that, it is the day of the Lord proper when the church is being prepared for the rapture; days of revival (Joel 2:28-30,32). So the Lord has promised better days and joyful years ahead of us when the voice of the Watchman will be heard.
(2) THE PERSONALITY (Ps.139:1-12; 33:8-11)
God is transcendent – He is different and independent from His creation. (Isa.6:1-3; 55:8-9). His Being and existence are infinitely greater and higher than the created order (1Kgs.827, Isa.66:1-2; Acts 17:24-25). He is Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent. He is everywhere, knows/sees everything and possesses all power. (Ps.139:1-12; Heb.4:13;2Chro.16:9) Being the final/supreme arbiter, He does not report to any man what He says or promise is final. All God’s word are true and trustworthy. A person’s word is measured by the quality of his or her character and capability. (Ps.33:4; Isa.40:21-23).
All Watchman brethren must believe the Lord and also His servant, if the individual wants to be established and prosper (2Chro.20:20; Heb. 6:13-19).
(3) THE PEOPLE (2Chro.7:13-15; Jn.14:21, 23-24)
God who is not prodigal with His blessings will want us to know the kind of people who stand to enjoy the blessings that are coming even the better days ahead (Isa. 33:14-17; 66:1-2).
They are those who had reconciled with the Lord God through Jesus Christ and separated/keep themselves unspotted from the world (2Cor.6:14-18; Jas.1:27). Those who obey and accept God’s word (Deut.28:2; Isa. 53:1-2; Mk.9:23). They are those who continue waiting patiently for the Lord, seeking and asking for specific things (Heb.10:36-37; Matt.7:7-8; Ps.9212-14). Those who lead a life of purity and holiness, claiming the promises through confession and faith. (Rom.4:17-21; Matt.21:21), praying until they possess their possession.
Tonight, we should arise to appreciate God for the better days/years ahead of us. Removing whatsoever that might constitute a stumbling block on our way to this better days with its abundant promises. Let us call upon Him. HSCF: 137
