CHARISMATIC HOUR (13/04/21) Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement   Topic:                                     HE TAKES CARE OF THE UNKNOWN Texts:                                                Num. 22:7-13; Lk. 22:31-32   Introduction: God who is the all knowing in His attribute sees everything that goes on in this planet earth and other planets including the spiritual world. (2Chro.16:9; Heb. 4:13). He created everything and has authority over all. He takes care of them, both the known and unknown.   Given the uncertainties of life and fear of the unknown in this time of perplexity, many have been led into all kinds of fetish and pseudo religious practices. God who knows all these, is assuring the Watchmen and all His genuine children that ‘He takes care of the unknown’. The message shall be coming up under the following points: (1) The Unknown Defined (2) Implication & Problems Of The Unknown (3) But He Takes Care Of The Unknown.
  1. THE UNKNOWN DEFINED (Matt. 24:6-10)
The unknown in our context simply means those things that battle against/affect our lives to a great extent, yet they are unknown to us (Job 5:6-8). Some of these things are such that are capable of demoralising, discouraging and destabilising one’s faith in God yet one does not know or have idea or them. Job suffered under a circumstance he never knew or understood. (Job. 1:6-12; 2:1-10).
  1. IMPLICATION & PROBLEMS OF THE UNKNOWN (Job 1:20-21; 2:10; 3:1-10)
The unknown creates an environment or atmosphere of uncertainty and suspicion. It keeps a person wondering in bewilderment. It creates room for all manner of mistakes. Sometimes, it shields the culprit and exposes the innocent. The wicked thrives in it. The evil one uses it so much as a cover for all manner of evil and wickedness. The unknown creates fear and kills faith, courage gives way to discouragement/doubt. It creates room for murmuring and unguided utterances. Many brethren are victims of these, losing their confidence in faith in God as a result they blame others for their plight. (Ex. 14:10-12).
  1. HE TAKES CARE OF THE UNKNOWN (Num. 22:9-12; Lk. 22: 31-32)
Our God is Omniscient and Omnipresence, He sees and understands what no other being, including angels can see or understand. This attribute of the Lord makes Him able to see through the thoughts, motives, intentions, and imaginations of both men and spirits.   Those who believe in the Lord and serve Him, benefit from this unique quality of His. This is because He sees the plans of their enemies and acts to defend them even when they don’t know such plans that are against them. (Ps.94:11; Isa.37:28-29; Matt.12:25).   Those who are genuine children of God and sincerely serving Him, calling upon Him in truth and in spirit should rejoice because our God takes care of the unknown no matter how secret. Israel did not know the plan against them by Balak and Balaam but God knew and intervened in their favour (Num. 22:7-12). Peter did not know the devils plan against him, but Jesus knew and prayed for him (Lk. 22:32). In our own time, the Lord will take care of all the unknowns in our lives no matter who is involved. For the sinners and backsliders, the Lord will want them to repent and return to Him (Ps.89:20-23; Isa.49:25; 54:14-17, 2Chro.7:13-15).   Tonight, we shall rise to pray declaring that God will take care of all the unknowns in our lives (Num.14:28).
