WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY (11/03/21, 18/03/21) Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement   Topic:             BRINGING IN THE SHEAVES (AN EXHORTATION)   Texts:             Psa. 126:1-6, Isa. 6:1-12   INTRODUCTION: The sudden turning away of the captivity of Zion is figured with the situation of a discouraged farmer who had had crop failures to the point of despair, but who sowed again in tears and prayer and had abundant yield (Ps. 126:1-6).   As the man sowed again, and this time had abundant harvest, so the Lord has assured that abundant harvest shall attend our sowing this time around  (Ps. 126:5-6).   The Lord is making a call on everyone of us hence the idyllic era of conception and parturition in this last lap of the project to return to evangelism and souls winning which is the heart cry of the Lord.  He has assured that those who obey and go into the field, this time sowing with travailing prayer the precious seed of the truth of God=s word which He has given us, will doubtless come back with rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves of abundant harvest of souls, as it is harvest time among His elect.  To actually realise the afore-stated, two operations are called for, (1). Prayer (2). Preaching.
  1. Prayer (Psa. 126:5-6).
The prayer meant is the hearty out-cry of the intercessor/soul-winner.  It is travail of soul by the man whose eyes are opened to see:  that the field is already white for harvest; that if they are not harvested immediately, they will fall off, decay and get damaged (Jn. 4:35). It is the intercession of one whose eyes are opened to see: the reality of heaven and hell ; the endlessness of eternity, the immortality of the soul, the unchangeableness of the standard of God for salvation, the condition for entry into heaven and the horror of eternity in hell fire for  the impenitent sinner (Ps.9:17; Mk.9:43-48; Lk.16:19-31; Jn.3:3-5; Rev.21:8).  It is the prayer of one who is seeing that God is yearning for the salvation of multitudes, and that He will act if we pray (Isa.43:19-22; Ezk.33:11; 36:37); the prayer of one, who as a result of such insight, goes on groaning in the spirit for the salvation of  the doomed and dying (Rms. 9:1-3).   Aside intercession, pertinent prayer here is inclusive of a hearty out-cry of  those of us whose hearts and eyes of understanding have not been so touched and opened-that such might be their experience (Mk. 10:46-52).
  1. Preaching (Is. 58:1)
It is those that sow in tears that shall reap in joy, and it is he that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, that shall come back with rejoicing – bringing in the sheaves (Ps. 126:5,6).  You don=t talk of any harvest if you didn=t sow.  The seed sown is the word of God (Lk.8:12).  If you clear the bush, till the soil, manure it, and did not plant any seed, you don=t expect any harvest.  So, at this time of conception and bringing forth, the importance of sowing the seed, in clear anointed preaching of the gospel message, cannot be over emphasized (Isa. 62:1-7; Ezk.3:17-19; 1Cor. 1:18, 21; Jas. 1:21).   To get into the abundant harvest, particularly during this era of conception and bringing forth, we must rise up to morning/evening cries, bus evangelism, street to street, house to house, person to person evangelism, and inviting the people to church.  We have to do this in faith and confidence knowing that their resistance has been destroyed (cp. Num. 14:9).   This is the time to get involved in the last lap of corporate service to the Lord.  And if you do, He will bless you abundantly, in Jesus name.  Amen.   Rise and let us pray   Fellowship Songs: HSCF (188 & 211).
